I have been a physiotherapist for 10 years working in the Huron County area. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ottawa in 2007 and then went on to receive a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2012. I became a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and have spent my career caring for the residents of Huron County. With experience in a wide range of settings including private practice, hospital, long-term care and homecare, I have treated respiratory, neurological and orthopedic conditions in people of all age groups. In this time I discovered my passion for pelvic floor therapy which focused my education and practice and ultimately led me to open Huron Pelvic Health. As well as pelvic floor courses I have pursued post graduate education in acupuncture, dry needling and manual therapy. I have continued to further my education in the areas of the female athlete, labour and delivery, pregnancy and post partum issues incorporating treatments with a basis in CBT and yoga therapy. I am passionate about continuing my education and staying up-to-date on current research and treatment techniques. I am dedicated to working with people to help them achieve their goals and improve their overall wellbeing. When not in the clinic I enjoy spending time with friends and family, travelling and doing anything active outdoors.

I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with a diverse background in supporting individuals through challenging life experiences. My career began 15 years ago in the corrections system, where I worked closely with women navigating complex mental health issues. Since then, I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings offering support to those experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, and trauma. In recent years, my focus has shifted toward women’s health, with a passionate focus on perinatal mental health. This shift was deeply influenced by my own personal experiences with birth and reproductive trauma, as well as witnessing the often-overlooked struggles that many women face on their journey into parenthood. I feel that this area is significantly underserved, and I am passionate about providing the support and care to women and families during this transformative time. I am dedicated to empowering women to navigate the emotional complexities of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Windsor University and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Lakehead University. Additionally, I have completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Concurrent Disorders from Mohawk College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Laurier University. I hold certificates in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Perinatal Mental Health. I also engage in continuous learning and development, with a particular focus on Emotionally Focused and Somatic Approaches to help deepen my practice and provide holistic support to my clients. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, daughter and three stepchildren. I have a passion for travel, learning new things, cooking, and spontaneous kitchen dance parties.

My name is Alyssa Taylor and I have been working as a Registered Dietitian for over 5 years. I have worked in a variety of settings including long-term care, primary care, acute care and public health. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition with an Honors Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics through Brescia University College (at Western University) and completed my dietetic internship with Hamilton Health Sciences. Upon successful completion of my internship, I became registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and passed the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination. Since then, I have obtained a Master of Science in Aging and Health at Queen’s University.
I practice dietetics through an evidence-based, patient-centred, weight neutral, non-diet approach. My practice is weight inclusive and aligned with health at every size. I encourage health promoting habits that are meaningful to patients and clients, promote a peaceful relationship with food, and do not use weight as a measure of health. I am passionate about helping people improve their relationship with their body as well as implementing gentle nutrition strategies that are realistic and practical.

I am a Registered Nurse with 32 years experience, many of those years as a Maternal Child nurse supporting women in labour and in the postpartum period following delivery. When I was on my personal breastfeeding journey, I noticed a lack of support for new mothers in my community. After reaching out to a Lactation Consultant for support, I knew lactation consultation was my passion and something I needed to pursue. I became a Certified Lactation Consultant in 1997 and have spent the past 26 years supporting and advocating for the breastfeeding mother and baby. Breastfeeding looks different for every mother. However you choose to feed your baby it is important for you to have the necessary tools, knowledge and support to be successful. Non-judgmental support and personal attention will be provided to help you achieve your breastfeeding goals.
